We Are His Flock
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. (John 10:11-14 NKJV)
Pastor Jeff Paul made a poignant remark: “We are His (God’s) flock … God expects a return on His investment.” He was referring to a fact that we often forget: a flock of sheep has one main purpose, and that is to provide a return on the investment made in them. God’s investment in us through the precious blood of Jesus demands a return. We are expected to provide an investment stream back to God. No, not monetary, but in terms that He appreciates and values. Many seem to think that living a Christian life is all about ourselves. No, it is SUPPOSED to be all about JESUS! We are SUPPOSED to be living FOR GOD! We SHOULD be conforming to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ! We OUGHT to be GLORIFYING to the SAVIOR! We are EXPECTED to be obedient children, doing the WILL of the FATHER!
Beloved, we need to start returning some of God’s Investment back to HIM! TODAY!
