What a Mess!
4 Where were you when I established the earth? Tell [Me], if you have understanding. 5 Who fixed its dimensions? Certainly you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 What supports its foundations? Or who laid its cornerstone 7 while the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:4-7
In spite of the many things in Job that we can differ about, there is certainly one thing that is very clear from this passage. This is God talking to Job. God is asking Job questions to make him realize just how puny he is in comparison to God. I think that we all need that, on a regular basis. We that have surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord often forget that HE is in charge, not us! HE is the Master of our lives, not us! We need to let HIM be in charge, and quit running our lives. After all, before we surrendered to HIM, we were all making a mess of things!
Do you look around your life and see a mess? Often, whether you are saved or not, it is because of sin in your life and mine. Our rebellion takes many forms, but always leads to the same place: disaster! If you have not surrendered to Jesus Christ today, do so now! If you have, but you have been living for your self and disgracing HIS glorious Name, then surrender afresh today and start walking in obedience to HIM again!
