Doesn’t Matter if you don’t like it.
5 Then Joseph had a dream. When he told it to his brothers, they hated him even more. 6 He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: 7 There we were, binding sheaves of grain in the field. Suddenly my sheaf stood up, and your sheaves gathered around it and bowed down to my sheaf.” Genesis 37:5-7
When Joseph dreamed about becoming the ruler over his brothers, sisters, and parents – they all were offended. They all disliked what Joseph dreamed, and evidently didn’t believe him. I know that most of us have never experienced anything quite like that – God generally doesn’t tell us in a dream what is going to happen. Usually, God speaks to us through the “still small voice” of the Holy Spirit, or through the Bible – God’s Holy Word. However, I am sure that many of us have become convicted of a truth, and shared it with others – only to be rejected by those that we are trying to share it with.
Maybe some of you reading this are among those that choose not to agree with the Bible, or the plan of salvation, or some aspect of Jesus Christ. Well friend, I am sorry that you feel that way, but it will not make any difference in the plan that God implements. You cannot change God’s mind simply by “believing” something else. In our current society it is generally accepted that as long as we believe something we are ok. Well, God says, it doesn’t matter if you don’t like it, HIS TRUTH is the ONLY WAY. Don’t like it? Tough. He is not going to change it.
Christian, you are in the same boat. You cannot pick and choose your doctrine. You cannot pick and choose your gifts from God. You cannot pick and choose what service you are going to do for Him. You cannot pick and choose how God wants to use you. You are “not your own. You are bought with a price” – so it doesn’t matter if you don’t like it. God is in charge, not you or me.
It is high time we humbled ourselves before God Almighty, and recognized that HE IS THE LORD! Ask HIM what to do, then DO IT!
