Are You Invited to Dinner?

6 And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns! 7 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.  9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:6-9

Valentine’s Day is tomorrow! Everyone is gearing up to express his or her love to their special someone! Red flowers, red balloons, red hearts filled with candy, red clothes — everything to express the heart felt sentiments to a special person! Many will enjoy a special dinner, a special outing, or a special function at a church in honor of Valentine’s Day.

Actually, it is a shame that we only do this once a year! We really should express our love to our loved ones all year long! If we really love someone, we want them to know it! I love my wife, and have no problem expressing that to her! I enjoy doing so! If I didn’t, then there would be something wrong with our relationship!

In the same way, if we are born-again then we have a love-relationship with Jesus Christ! The Bible says that we are ‘espoused’ to Him — that is, He is our ‘husband’ – or our ’special someone’ that we have declared our love for! One day we will have a special dinner that the Bible calls the “marriage supper of the Lamb” and we will actually sit down and eat with our beloved Jesus Christ! What a wonderful dinner that will be! But, we only get to go by special invitation! That invitation is the same one that He gives to all – “please accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord of your life!”

Have you accepted that invitation? Are you born-again? If so, we will enjoy the Marriage Supper of the Lamb together! If not, you must do so TODAY!
