Heaven or Hell?

47 And if your eye causes your downfall, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. Mark 9:47-48

It is well known that whenever the Bible wants to emphasize something important, it is repeated. Well, this phrase is repeated 3 times! So, I realize that God deems it VERY important! The phrase “their worm does not die” refers to a fact that the individual continues to exist. The phrase “the fire is not quenched” means that the individual is continually on fire. So the message here is that those individuals that go to hell experience all the misery of being on fire, but it never ends! They never burn up, they just continually burn! The experience has every indication of complete sensory awareness – that is, those individuals in hell will FEEL EVERYTHING, and do so forever!

Jesus is saying that if your hand, or your foot, or your eye causes you to go to hell, then lose that hand or foot or eye! Hell is worth EVERYTHING to ESCAPE! There is NOTHING that is as important as missing Hell! There is more here, and throughout the Bible on hell and the many reasons to escape it, but know this: there is ONLY ONE WAY to escape hell! That way of escape is in the surrender of your life to Jesus Christ as your Savior and you Lord! Nothing less than complete and honest surrender will help you!

Make sure of your salvation today!
